This class is probably the most important class in our event, you will notice that this class is required to complete all three levels of our extrication courses. 
 
Today as rescuers we think of extrication as cutting up cars. So many have lost sight of the real mission of extrication, being dis-entrapment and removal of the patient without further harm.

Patient Extraction

 

This class is open to all emergency personnel

                            No experience necessary                                 

 

Issues to be addressed: 

  • Basic patient care (airway, bleeding, etc)
  • C-spine
  • C-collars application 
  • KEDs, lifting and handing techniques
  • Patient packaging
  • The golden hour
  • Patient chain of life support (first aid, BLS, ALS, ER) 

This class is also designed to give emergency room personnel an insight into operations, techniques, and problems that we face as rescuers, EMTs, and Paramedics.
